Start the New School Year Stress-Free with Our Checklist

Summer vacation is slowly coming to an end—and suddenly, it’s here again: the first day of school.

A new class, a new schedule, maybe even a new school. And on top of that, the infamous supply list: new notebooks, books, gym shoes, slippers, and about 27 other little things you’d actually still need to remember.

1. Check off the supply list: notebooks, pens, and other supplies.

School supplies are usually at the top of the list.

Which notebooks do I need? Are there still enough pencils? Does the fountain pen work? And where did the set square from last school year go, anyway?

2. Check textbooks and learning materials

Which books does the school provide? Which workbooks do we have to buy ourselves? Are we missing any workbooks for math, German, or English?

A quick check before school starts will save you from unnecessary last-minute stress later on.

3. Do the shoes still fit?

Unfortunately, children’s feet have a way of growing right during summer vacation.

That’s why it’s a good idea to do a quick shoe check before school starts:

Do my everyday shoes still fit?
Are the sneakers still big enough?
Are slippers needed for school, after-school care, or full-day programs?

4. Check your glasses and vision

5. Get the snack box ready to go again
