On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, it’s that time of year again: Grünwald lights up!
It’s an evening we look forward to especially every year. Because when the lights come on along Luitpoldweg, music fills the air in Grünwald, and the streets fill with people, a unique atmosphere takes hold—one that can really only be described if you’ve experienced it yourself.
And the best part for us: The SCHLOSSPASSAGE is right in the heart of the action. “Grünwald Leuchtet” takes place all around—and, of course, right inside—our SCHLOSSPASSAGE.
An afternoon that slowly turns into the Festival of Lights
This year, “Grünwald Leuchtet” is starting a little earlier than usual:
Coffee and cake will be served starting at 2:00 p.m., before the festival officially begins at 3:00 p.m.
So it’s the perfect time to stop by the SCHLOSSPASSAGE, take a leisurely stroll through the shops, meet up with friends, and then dive into the festivities together.
Because the later the afternoon gets, the more the atmosphere changes: The tables fill up, music fills the air, people are raising their glasses here, meeting acquaintances there—and before you know it, you realize that what started as a perfectly ordinary Wednesday afternoon has turned into a very special Grünwalder evening.
Music, dance, and lots of fun
Of course, this year’s “Grünwald Leuchtet” will once again feature a program that runs throughout the afternoon and evening.

3:00 p.m. – Start of the festival
3:30 p.m. – Benny Gast
4:30 p.m. – Zumba
5:00 p.m. – Benny Gast
6:30 p.m. – Bernhard Ullrich Swing Quartet
8:30 p.m. – Water, Light, and Music Show
10:00 p.m. – Water, Light, and Music Show
By the time it gets dark, at the very latest, “Grünwald Leuchtet” reveals the origin of its name. Light, water, and music transform the evening and create that special atmosphere for which the festival is now known far beyond Grünwald.

For us, however, “Grünwald Leuchtet” is so much more than just a nice street festival.
It’s an evening of encounters.
An evening when, while out shopping, you run into someone you haven’t seen in a long time. When a quick coffee suddenly turns into dinner together. When kids make a discovery, adults stop in their tracks, and you just go with the flow a little.
That’s exactly why the SCHLOSSPASSAGE is the perfect meeting place on this day.
Our stores, restaurants, and the entire shopping arcade will be part of the festival—both indoors and outdoors, everything comes together to form a lively gathering place in the heart of Grünwald.
